if your removing the seats, there are 2 tabs on the bottom that u pull out and then just yank the seat out. then to remove the vertical seating, there are 4 bolts on the bottom that hold it in place and 3 clips, and then just remove the little trim to reveal the 3 bolts on each side that hold the susp.

LS400s sold in the U.S. did not have the power rear seat where the entire seat cushion slides forward and the backrest tilts. You might have better luck finding someone in NZ with a Asian market car with this option.
The two volume repair manual set for my U.S. spec 1990 LS400 did not have any information about the Asian market power rear seat.
Oddly, the two volume repair manual set for my U.S. spec 2000 LS400 has a section showing the Asian market power rear seat including details on the four rear seat power headrest motors and the mechanism that allows the seat cushion to side forwards and the backrest to tilt. But the manual does not show how to remove the seat cushion.
If you slide the rear seat cushion all the way forward, can you see how it is connected to the tracks it slides on?
