Default Bigger Rims

Any issues with going to 17, 18 or 19" rims? Does it affect ride? (I assume lower profile tires mean stiffer ride but anyone have any real complaints?)

they fit fine. do a little research on here about fitment and offset before you order anything tomake sure you get the look you want. the ride really isn't that bad even with low profile tires. i certainly wouldn't go back to stock huge sidewall tires at any rate!

The ride is not compromised with a larger wheel and smaller profile as much as you have to worry about rim damage from bad roads. Welcome to CL.

I think going past 18 will result in definitely noticeable increase in impact harshness. I'm running 19s (+4 setup) and while the overall ride is still very nice, there is no question the reduced sidewalls transmit more impact through the chassis.

i ran my 18"s on stock susp. and 40 series tires for a few months and the ride was VERY comparable to my dad's mint '00 LS on stock wheels.

oh, and dont forget that LS430s had 18" options

Depends on your suspension too and the look you want. 18"-20" seem to be good.

I am on stock suspension and 18x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear.....ride is also surprisingly good compared to stock; maybe 90-95%. I need new tires as well, that should help.

stock suspension switching to 19"s with 35 front and 45 backs. It def was alot harsher ride. I switch back to my stock wheels for longer distance drives (3+ hours).

mounting does get more expensive if u dont know where to go

phy-what sizes are you running?? a 35 is obviously going to affect the ride....

Yup--seems that 18" is the limit for stock-quality ride.
