Default Boy Did I Screw Up.

About 6 weeks ago I bought a 98 GS400 which I thought would be an upgrade from my 94 LS400 with 165k on the clock. I've been driving the GS exclusively since I bought it. Today I drove the LS. 4 years older and 75k more miles and it is a better car than the GS.
I should never have bought the GS. the LS400 is a much better car for me.
Maybe I can talk my GF into the GS and I'll keep the LS for myself.
Maybe I can sell them both and buy a newr LS.

They are two totally different rides man. You like a stiffer suspension go for the GS...I like the GS ALOT, but insurance isn't exactly cheap for me

I completely agree. My 98LS is much better of a car then my current '02GS430. You can just tell it was built better, with better materials.

You can tell that Lexus checked, and double checked again, and ran every idea through teams to make sure it was the right idea.

One must remember, putting depreciation value aside, in 1998, the LS400 starts close to $55K, while the GS400 was in the lower $40's. Huge difference as you can see.

If i had to do it again, I would differently get a 98-00LS, too bad that generation ended in 2000, which is a little outdated now, and is hard to find in good condition. Now my younger brothers are looking to buy a 98-00 after all the years i drove them in it to school and back.

i've never driven a sencond gen gs but i think it would be a more fitting car for me. ls400's look better though. Bur for the same price, i think i'd take a 98 ls over a 98 gs...

10k is a good price, got any pics?

I have driven both the GS and the LS. I actually like both cars, but I agree that there are distinct differences between the 2. For me the GS would be a ticket magnet cause it feels just oh so good to be fast as well as sporty. I like the open feel of the LS interior over the cockpit feel of the GS. Dont get me wrong, I would drive either me, LS is my first choice tho.
