Default 95-94 and 98-00 Airbag Connectors

Hello,

Has anyone every successfully adapted the 95-97 airbag to fit the 95-97 wheel? I know it's not safe, but has anyone done it, is it possible?

Information like how many wires are on each connector and wiring diagrams would be very helpful.

Thanks

no, its nearly impossible to do so since the 98+ airbags are dual stage and all models before are single stage.

What about just hooking up the cruise and horn functions until I find a good deal on an airbag? Would that work?

horn prolly and cruise control maybe.

but the airbag wont work, 89-97 bags wont fit and 98-00 wiring is VERY different and uses a different type of trigger.

oh, and in ur OP i think u mean has anyone gotten a 98-00 bag to work in a 95-97

Thanks.

No, I got it right.

I want to install a wood wheel from a 98-00 in a 95, but buying a new airbag is too expensive.

Hah, my mistake. A 95-97 bag in a 98-00 wheel is what I meant, sorry.

@PD

The 98-00 LS400 and 97-01 (I think) LX470 steering wheel and airbag look identical, are they interchangeable?
