I am new to this site and would appreciate any advice. I have a 1992 lexus ls 400 and am going to buy 18" wheels for it. What is the bolt pattern and what other cars bolt patterns are an exact match? What width of the wheel and offset is needed? I want a good tire size that is not to thin, I don't want to feel every bump in the road, whats a good size? Any help would be great!!!!!!

I'm no expert on lexus wheels, but the bolt pattern is 5x114.3. The inner bore of a standard lexus is 60.1 (i believe). A standard 16x7 lexus wheel has an offset of 45. I have a 99, but I am shooting for a similar goal...no rubber band tires and retaining ride quality. I am shooting for an 18x8 possible, offset between 35 and 45, 45 series tire maybe?

I have the 18" 5-spoke LS430 rims on mine. They will fit yours no problem, you just need to find tires.

and it really depends on your style. i mean offset is the distance from the mounting surface to the rim's true centerline.

so if you want it to poking out near the fender the lower the offset you'll need.

Welcome to CL bro. Since you have a first gen finding a suitable wheel will be easier since your front calipers are smaller than the second gen. Like they all said before it depends on your style. I like mesh or multi-spoke. Cheaper wheels like ACE Klassik, Ruff racing and TSW Kyalami's are really cool on the LS but that is what I like bro.

As for tires I have Nitto 555 40's up front and 35's in the back. It rides firm - I feel the road but I have many other parts I added to make it drive that way. Post pics and we'll give you feedback.

Eddie--Welcome to CL!

Check out the link below for a collection of wheels on various LS400s. Read the specs on the posts--many contain offsets so you can judge what you like.

As mentioned, once you find the offset you like, you're likely ready to roll, since brake clearance isn't an issue on the 1st-gen LS4.
