Smile Repainting the car... color choice help needed

I'm not sure if you guys saw what happened to my car last week, but here's a picture that will sum it up:

With all the other dings, scratches, and what not.. I'm just going to get the whole car fully repainted.

So.. I now have a choice. Stick with the same color (silver), or go with a new color.. specifically, Smoky Granite Mica, which you can see on the new IS/GS/LS (its quite popular on the IS)..What do you think? I'm torn! Help me decide. I think the SGM will update the look of the car (I'm going monotone, BTW), but I'm still attached to my silver.

Also take a look at my interior. It's the motivation for SGM.. it'll match perfectly These pics make it look darker than it is for some reason.

For reference, here are some pics of an SGM IS.

Will you be doing entire car...door/body jambs, underhood, inside trunk lid among the other areas? If so...I'd do the SGM, if not the original.

All door/body jams, inside trunk lid (most is carpeted), hood is covered, but what isn't covered will be SGM. Underneath the engine and that area... probably not.

I agree 100%. With a color change you either do it right or don't do it at all. If you are not willing to pay the big $$ for a proper color change stick with the original color. My only acception to my personal rule is if the engine bay is black (Black car) then it is more acceptable to not paint the engine bay if you are not going with a really light color.

Is a different silver an option? I think silver makes older cars look newer, maybe just freshen up the silver?

Ofcourse you can ask. I bought the kit off a group buy from Leatherseats.com, and I did the installation myself. I also put PLENTY of extra foam padding in those seats. All said and done it cost me about $1000 total (including $100 of extra foam).

Extra padding, eh? Must get "hooked up" in the back seat a lot...I have the same problem, those girls are so rough on my car's interior...must be the leather...

Err...one question...why is one of your headsets gray (driver's side) and the other dark gray (passenger side)? Did you intend that or...?

You caught me! That picture was taken when I didn't put all the new headrest covers on.

Notice my arm rest is also gray. That's the color of the old leather.

I'll take a more recent picture. Everything is in now

I'm also planning on getting the car re-carpeted. My carpet is somany different colors. Once I get it re-carpeted I'll have an 80% brand new interior

The colour might be nicer but it will cost way too much to repaint properly.
