Default HELP!!! Question about installing aftermarket radio to replace broken nakamichi

Hello,
I have a 1995 LS400 with nakamichi. The nakamichi head unit has stopped working (turns itself on and off, switches b/w modes etc..) and cannot be fixed. I want to install an aftermarket head unit for the minimum cost. The guy at Best Buy said he thinks I can just plug my the new head unit into the nakamichi amplifier If I can find an "amplifier integration harness or wire harness for my car. so far I have been unable to find any that specifically say they will work with my car. HELP do such things exist?!!!? I'm having trouble finding anything, PLEASE help.
Thanks
drew

PS the wire harness would be most useful if it had rca cables coming out the back. Attached are pictures of the connectors in my car one of which (I believe the white) will have to fit in the harness.

A friend of mine bought the factory head unit cheap on Ebay. You might try looking for a factory head unit.

I just looked on Ebay. Someone has the harness you're looking for...

You don't need the harness, it isn't fully functional, and you loose the subwoofer. Better off hard wiring it yourself. Check audio tutorials on retrodrive.net, it has all the wiring diagrams for the factory LS400 radios.

2LS stereo is setup slightly differently from 1LS. you will need to custom wire it. use the repair manual link at the top of the forum and it has wiring diagrams for your car as to which wires are what in that harness.

i hard wired my kenwood dbldin radio into the nakamichi amp, I cut the harness and soldered rca ends to the inputs and my factory sub still works and system sounds pretty good for a 95.

Too bad you don't need a 1st generation Nakamichi head unit, as I am taking
one out of my 93 that works great. I don't think it will fit into the dash, but
I could be wrong. Perhaps the facia could be switched. I really think you
should look for a replacement Nakamichi head unit. I found mine at a local
radio installation store which had a bunch of used factory units. If you live
in a good-sized city, there should be salvage yards which could sell you a
used unit that you could plug right in to check out before you buy it. That's
what I did. I just wouldn't want to start cutting wires and all that when you
could just plug in a replacement unit. Look on the web too. With all the
folks smashing up their cars on a regular basis, there are plenty of radios
out there. I'll let you have mine for $150 if it will fit.

I would give $50.00 for that Nak unit. $150.00 is out of my price range.

Default Nakamichi head unit

I still have a first generation (90-94) Nakamichi head unit that works just fine
that I will let go for $100. It's a sure bet rather than trying to wire in an
aftermarket unit.

If you dont get any takers at $ 100.00, maybe later you can consider

my offer. Sorry I cant offer more. I was considing just buying a cheap
Unit and also purchase the kit and wiring adpater kit. The whole thing
is less than $ 100.00, and I would have peace of mind, as these old Nak units are potential reliability problems. Does the CD changer and CD holder
go with the unit?

i removed the 2 connectors from my broken NAK deck (unsoldered) and use them to make a harness for the Kenwood DX9140
soldered all the Kenwood wires on and just plugged it in
worked well
