^ that looks fantastic...do you mind if I ask what it cost you? And what style are those tips; they fit the car great.

Default Removed resonators - and question

Removed my resonators today (cost me 2 x 40$) and I can hear a SMALL change in the sound. Kind of wish I'd have a BIT more grunt but for that I guess I have to cut out the rear mufflers and replace them with aftermarket dampers.

Question to LEXKOST: how did you cut the rear fender plastic to fit in your new pipe ends? Did you replace the bumper or just cut with ..a saw?

Default Straght Out!!!

G'day from OZ!!! I have been down the whole muffler delete path, removed the rears, no real difference except that you could almost hear the engine running!!! Took apart the system at the single pipe joint, made a good difference, but not outrageous!!! I could still listen to music, talk to my wife all while the kids were sleeping!! I have now got rid of the single resonator(Cut out and weld a pipe in), refitted the the 2 middle resonators and straight tail pipes. In that form it sounds like a V8 without being too loud to sneak in the driveway late at night, it is still very quite inside(due to the half a ton of sound proofing Lexus fit). For times when I want to be a loud hoon, I have also installed a dump valve where the pipes split back into 2!! With this open, the gas flow(& noise), is straight out of the manifolds, through the cats, down some pipe & into the world. The noise is BLOODY LOUD out side the car, BUT I can still listen to music, talk to my wife all while the kids are sleeping!! Even at full throttle!! It does have people a couple of blocks away woundering what the hell is comming!!! Just remember, it's good to be a hoon(maybe thats Aussie for "Redneck").

Default muffler delete

I have a 95 LS400 and I want to achieve a more aggressive sound from my exhaust since it is so restrictive. I was thinking about removing the mufflers until I get my exhaust done. What are some thought s on this? What is the best temporary mod?
