more often than not it's just due to color differences between bulbs and manufacturers.

Yea thats probably it but what i wonder is that at night they seem to look the same, its only in the daytime while its cloudy and i turn them on I notice the slight color difference on the fogs. Do you have any thoughts on this?

6000k are closer to that spectrum. 5000k's are pure white and produce slightly more lumens then the 6000's. Stock color tempature on the Lexus is 5000k.

I removed the anti glare diffusers if that's what you want to call them. I credit this thread for much brighter output from my HB3 PIAA 3000K bulbs. They don't seem to bother people & I gotta say you become more noticeable when you pass people. Highly recommended.

Can you snap a pic of the removed glare shield and the beam output now?

I have some pics I will upload in the next couple days on this thread...

As mentioned by the OP at least 40% greater output is netted from this 5-10 min mod. Noticeably on the sides.

I have pics showing the difference side by side with LED bulbs. You can notice the difference in light output and also slight difference in color.

The above picture shows it all. You get more glare from more variety of angles.

yes you do and i do not recommend this for people with hids in their fogs because it will completely blind someone driving in front of you or the person on the other side of the road.

Well said. From some angles my PIAA yellows look like a Chinese HID kit in halogen reflectors.

not really, it depends on how you have the light aimed. The foglights naturally point down (into you know, FOG) and doing this mod doesnt change that. there's no increase in light thrown UP. plus the fogs can be adjusted independently for windage and elevation (anyone got better terms for this...? lol)

I think there is more light thrown UP from only the side angle. Maybe its the PIAA's? Since slamming on BC's they point seem to point down even more. Didn't know you could make individual adjustments.

I see what you mean by that, but tell me why even when i have the fog light aimed all the way down it still glares when i am looking at it from a distance? I tested them with my old hid kit. here you are. It is kind of hard to see the glare from the pics. When you take off the the shield it shoots the light all over the place and the light beam doesn't line up correctly on a wall.

because when installed in your front bumper they arent sitting flat, they're levelled to be straight when installed in the non-straight bumper.
