That has been the only repair issue with my 99 in more than 4 years of ownership. The styrofoam "float" in the sensor switch became defective. Replaced the switch (must remove washer fluid container and access swith from underneath). An easy 30 minute job - part cost $41 from a lex discounter online. Your problem MAY be the same ...

this is a known issue with the UCF21 with a solution posted up around here somewhere.

That's good to hear - is UCF21 the switch part number. That seems to be the only problem with my recently purchased 98 LS.

you dont necessarily have to buy a new sensor
