Anybody ever replace the ALT on their 1st gen?
Haven't been on in a minute...hope all is well with everyone..
Lifes been hectic in my military life lately...but I'm here with a dilemma
My car wouldn't start the other day...so (no big deal right?) I got a jump and took it to AutoZone where they tested and told me my ALT was only pushin out 10 volts vice the 14.7 required to charge the battery....whoopty doo for me
Anyways, I took a peek at the tutorial..doesn't seem TOO complicated..but has anyone done it before? Got some tips for a brother?

Just done mine , you are right not too tricky .
Do it from underneath and on a hoist , that will make the job very easy , if you drop the bottom tray you will be able to see very clearly whats required . I think I used a 12 mm , a 14 mm and a 17 mm ring spanners/sockets as well as my 1/4 drive 10 mm socket , nothing any half decent tool kit wouldn't have .
i f you need some more detail let me know .
Tool me just over an hour .
