Ive done alot of searching here and find mostly these symptoms on generation2 cars. I have turned my rotors and the vibration that was felt through the steering wheel is completely gone. I now have a vibration while braking quickly only felt through the brake pedal/floor of vehicle. Also when I hit pot holes it bangs on either side but struts seem fine? Ive heard of control arm bushings and strut bar cushions on the second generations causing this same symptom after searching the site. Does the first generation have the same issues? ThanksNel

yes, the strut bar bushings are known to die on the 1st gens as well, just not as often as the 2nd gens.

also check rear rotors again.

are they the original struts? whats the mileage on the car?

My LS has 230,000 on it. Mine has the same clank over bumps. At first I felt it was the end links cause I have seen a lot of the same style endlinks get dried out and are only noisy when there is weight on them. So I replaced both and I still have the clank...So I have been messin around with it cause it has been buggin me, so I finally found that both my lower ball joints are bad...
