Default New lexus member...just bought 99 LS400 blk/blk

Well I took the plunge for a 2nd car, and found a 1999 Lexus LS400 blk/blk about 4 hours away. Has 117k on it, but has just had tb/wp, brakes, replaced dashboard etc put on it. The front bumper needs a new coat of paint, a rim has a scratch, and it has some other small marks (not bad for 8 yr old car), but overall its fantastic. Sorry the pics suck...more to come.

outside is pretty dirty..its been claybarred/polished/waxed now

interior is near mint

stock chromes

cool door sill

crappy night shot w/ legend (which is covered in mud snow and salt)

I still have some interior detailing to do, then the first mod: some dark tint :smokin:
Gonna post some more pics when I get some good shots.
Oh btw the other car is my 1993 acura legend LS sedan

Very nice LS, you seem to have done your homework prior to purchase. Love the black interior, and welcome to CLUBLEXUS

Alright here are a few more pics. None of these are great; its been so muddy and nasty in NC this week I can't keep/get it as clean as I like
Also car is wet in a few shots (excuses, excuses)

Although its a bit of a hackjob, it did come with XM radio....

yeah me either...I didn't notice how hacked it was till I had bought the car (not that its a deal breaker). I was thinking of buying some sort of thin black plastic sheet , and cutting it to fit over that. What would you guys recommend? I know that is a little ghetto in and of itself, but I'd rather have flat black plastic around it than that cheap fake wood.

Also, can someone point me to the newbie FAQ? I'm looking for the basic maintenance schedule/ common mods/ etc for a 98-00 LS400. Really I'm just looking at doing tint and a drop for now (maybe some sort of air intake mod too), but I'm concerned lowering the car will take away some of its awesome lexus ride quality. Thanks.

HEy Pure Drifter, can I see your car? I have a black on tan...Cant tell with my tint...LS and I want to see what the clear corners and bumper lights look like on your car. They looked good on my silver 98 a long time ago.

Congrats and welcome! I'm going to be selling my 98 LS400 soon and if the buyer doesn't want them I'll have some 'mod' freebies if you care to pick them up.

BTW, I know its a couple hour drive for you, but we're having a decent sized meet this weekend in Charlotte - click on the link in my signature for details... We'll have at least two other LS's there (both mine, lol).

One of our members has put together an excellent LS FAQ site

Awesome...defintely let me know when you do that, I'd love to get some cheap mods on the LS400. I've checked out lexls.com, but I'm gonna go back and do some deeper reading..

I'd also like to see some pics of how clear bumpers/corners look on the LS...they don't bother me nearly as bad as they did on my acura legend before I changed them.
