RPF1 installed!
Finally, I am excited to report that 17x8 +45mm and 225/55-17 Continental True Contacts fit fine with enough clearance up-front. I believe I have achieved my goal of having a setup that handles better, is quieter, brakes quicker and is lighter with no loss of ride quality (in addition to whatever ride loss came from lowering the car). This car is a DD for me and I drive on some poor roads quite a bit, before you say go with 18s or bigger
Comments welcome, I am happy with this setup at this time.

Folks with Staggered wheelsets
Do you just rotate your tires side to side or just not worry about it?
I have staggered rims on the Lexus but that's because I really didn't think it thru. I went with the same size tires on all four thinking I'd still rotate normally, but the added time/expense of remounting makes that unfeasible. I probably should have gone with 18x8s all around and just added spacers in the rear.
How do you handle the spare tire? Sized to match the front or the back?

This! You have to PAY to play!
If you are running a staggered setup, you are pretty much locked into that. If you are smart and buy non directional tires, you can swap them side to side but that really doesn't do anything for wear on aggressive setups.
Going in to it, you sort of have to expect and be ready for the extra cost of burning through tires, especially when running a big drop and or lots of camber.

A friend had these ES350 wheels taking up space in his garage. I got some winter tires on closeout at Tire Rack yesterday. Got to love living in a city where they have a warehouse! I'm going to mount the tires this afternoon. They're slightly higher profile than the ones that are on them now to get back to stock diameter. I'm pretty happy with how these look. 17x7 +45. I thought they might sit too far in, but really, they look fine to me.
