Hello hello, just got a '93 LS to replace my Dieselgate victim Volkswagen. Thought I go right for the jugular and ask about wheel fitment as a first post. I'm seeing a ton of 18x9/10 rear setups posted up, but not too much on higher offsets. Would +40 on coils run into issues clearing anything? Have a few ideas in mind once Dieselgate settles, but with not much info in the last ~30 pages I pored over, it would help myself and other thread visitors in the future.

Thanks!

I dont have experience with anything this conservative, however I can tell you that the first setup I ran on my 95 was 18x9 +22 (205/40r18) and 18x10+24 (with a 215/40r18). I cut the lips from the inside of the fenders and had probably 10mm of space between tire and fender and about 25-25mm of inner clearance. I assume you will probably run a meaty tire since you have such a conservative offset, so with 18x10 +40, and a meaty tire, I think you 'll run into some clearance issues.

Makes sense. Might have to shoot for something a little more vanilla then. 8.5/9.5 +35, 235/45R18 all the way around should be mucho clearance, while being within spec for the speedo. The wheels I've been looking at also have 9.5 +20 rear, but while I want to go low, I also carry passengers so I have to compensate a bit for rear weight, and that might be too much poke unless it's super slammed. Coming from FWD fitment, it's been tricky solving how aggressive I can get without running into inside clearance issues, it's mostly fender stuff for me before.

If you are comfortable doing fender work then you can fit any wheel lol! But that 9.5 +20 sounds like it should work, I'm putting an old set of wheels I have sitting around on my daily this weekend (also a 93 LS400), the wheels are 18x9.5 +0 all around. I will let you know if they fit and post pictures on here. The car wont be super slammed so I can keep driving it everyday without issue. I will be running 245/35's all around.

Sorry to bring this back but wait.. what?
Ive been trying to fit LS460 wheels on to my 1999 LS400 for a while now with no luck.
Not only is the pcd 5x120 instead of 5x114, but the studs are m14 instead of m12. Which also means new lug nuts are required.
Think you could provide more insight?

^ That looks spot on! Thanks for the offset references. Right now though I'm looking at Upgarage (FYI, they now ship worldwide), at 18x8/9 +40 wheels that I pray will still be around in 6 months.

Hello all,

I'm in need of advice and thought this was the best place to ask. I am looking at getting ESM 015 18x9.5/10.5 +15 for my LS400. I know it would need spacers to clear the calipers, just don't know what size I would need. I've been told 15mm would work, but I also spoke to a wheel rep and was told that I would need 20/25mm. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
