I like the all-black look and the clear corners, but honestly, 5-spoke tuner style wheels on a big body flagship LS sedan? I don't think the combo looks particularly attractive, but whatever floats your (or your father's) boat. Just my opinion, please don't take offense to it

while i love those wheels for small sport compacts, they look plain OFF on the bigg LS. maybe its because those seem to be tiny (17-18" by the look of it) that makes it look so unappealing to me. prolly look a LOT better if the car was lowered and the wheels were 19s or 20s or maybe if they were thicker spoked or had a non-stepped lip.
other that the wheels the monotone and the rest of the car look nice and clean

I've been wanting to paint the lower half of mine to match the rest of the car. How much did your father spend to get his done. Just trying to get an idea of what it's going to cost me.

I guess i will say the same , i love the wheels as they are Hardcore rims but they have no place on an LS . Volk have there Lexion brand for luxury cars rays are a sport compact racing wheel brand.

He paid about $1,000 to have the lower half painted. The shop did a fantastic job and it looks factory. He had purchased some chrome Lexus 17's at the beginning of the year and the chrome started to peel off already. He wanted a decent wheel that will hold up to salt better but not go bigger than 18" or change the suspension because he is more concerned with ride quality. He got a good deal on the gram lights from a local shop. They were half off what they normally sell them for. He got them for $250ea. I'll take the gram lights over a stock 98 LS400 wheel anyday..

DRLs in the high beams and HIDs low beams the only one in the world that has the DRLs go off when the HIDs go on that will give you something to think about. By the way I sold the 06, I found the 98 to be more fun to drive. In the 06 you sit lower and the windows are higher, you sit in the car the 98 you feel more part of the car more on top and in control the 06 felt like a old mans car, heaver the LS 460 might be the same way felt like I was in the car try looking over the hood hard to tell were the car stops and starts. Something you don't have to get used to on a older LS with the bigger windows. The 1998 to 2000 IMO is more fun than the 430, will have to see how the 460 runs out 100 extra hp has to be a blast.
