Default My 94 LS needs somthing! Slow 0-60 times

Hey guys, i need your help. I just got back from testing my car and the fastest 0-60 time i could get was 9.5 secs. The car runs great but the exaust sounds more warbley in the 94 than in the 93. The 93 is faster about 8.1 for 0-60 and quieter.

Also when breifly tap the gas in idle, the car sputters slightly and rpms drop momentarily.

What do you think is wrong?

Thanks!

Try resetting the ECU first. Either take out the fuse or disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for a few minutes. Put it back on, start her up, wait a minute or two. Then go for a drive.

If its still sputtering, could be a bunch of things; maybe it needs throttle body/injectors cleaned; new spark plugs/wires/timing/idle reset...

You'll lose your stereo and memory presets, but I'm not sure if there is any stereo security key or not, so don't hold me to that! There isn't on my 90 base stereo.

as far as i know there is no security code for the LS400 radio.

or just pull the EFI and main engine fuses

There is no security code. I've disconeccted my battery many times with no problems.

You can't really. The UCFs are made for smoothness and comfort rather than 0-60. You can mod the I/E and maybe play with the tranny a bit.

Just part of an aging car, it may not perform as well when the engine was all tight and fresh.

i don't understand though. how can an older LS with more miles still do 8.1 and a newer ls with less miles(and full syth oil since day one) be slower. I think when i get some time i'll give the 94 a full tune up. Needs a tune up, a brake job, and it'll be great. If it doens't fix the speed problem, i don't really care. Its still fast enough to merge on the freeway and in 90% driving i can't even tell. Just when i run back to back with the two cars, the difference is apparent.
