Cleaning Mass Airflow Sensor?
So I did a search and found some threads where you guys are talking about some great results after cleaning the MAF sensor. So I took apart my intake, and pulled out the whole MAF assembly. What exactly do I clean? On top of the assembly, theres a little gray box, I unscrewed it and pulled out what looks to be a long gray stick. The stick was pretty clean, i wiped it with alcohol just in case. The rest of the MAF assembly didnt really seem to have anything inside of it. Should I clean anything else?

I wouldnt really mess with the MAF..very sensitive..has a special film on the piece you took out...try install it back on your car and see if it made a difference or screwed it up..

Not sure about the lexus but in my old Maxima, all my mechanic told me to do is spray chlorinated brake cleaner on the mass air flow sensor to clean it.
Well to make a long story short.. it worked and only cost 6 bucks.
The dealer was going to charge me well over 300 bucks.! No more stalling or hesitation.. I had to do it again 2 years later.
I'm not sure if it will damage the Lexus Mass airflow sensor so becareful.
