Default 92 LS Interior Light sQuestion

I recently bought a 92 LS 400 and love it. But something seems to be up with the interior lights, specifically all the lights on the right rear seat. Neither the door light or courtesy light on the right rear pillar work.

What I noticed is that the left rear door lights come on when the door is opened. But only after the front door has been opened.

So I'm confused about how they're supposed to work. Are ALL interior lights supposed to come on when ANY door is opened (you would think)? Seems only the front interior lights come on when the front doors are opened, and the rears come on only when a rear door is opened (and in this case, only the left rear).

Can anyone "shed some light" (I know, groan).

Ok, if its like how my LS is. We'll, I have 3 different lights for each rear seat. One comes on with its respective side, and two others come on when you press the button.

I’m guessing in your case since its 2 of the same door, might be because someone took the interior pieces out and forgot to plug them back in. So check it out.

Also, some info on the lightening:
When front doors are opened, only the front’s light on the doors, footwell, and IF you have it set, the doom light will light up, but nothing in the rear will. Think of it as a car to be driven in.

Hope that made sense.

It did. I swapped out bulbs on the right rear side just in case they blew out. No luck. Must be a short somewhere. Even pushing in the reading light button doesn't work.

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything with the rear lights b/c you'd expect them all to come on when you open any door. Just weird that only the front of the interior lights up when you open the front doors, lol.

Sounds like someone opened the panels, and didnt reconnect them in the end. Oh yeah.. i forgot... there is a fuse for that section, check your fuses. I remember i blew it when i was installing amber mood lights in the rear.

Thanks. Are there fuses for each side? The left rear works, just not the right rear. But I thought I read that all the interior lights, the a/c and a few other items are all on the same fuse, so I figured if the rest was working, the fuse is ok.

I dont remember what else turned off when I blew that fuse, because i changed it within a good 45 seconds

If the LEFT is the only side not working, even when switching bulbs, and the fuses are okay, then pull the lighting assemblies out, and check if they are connected.

Yep, tried pulling the assemblies out and they looked ok. I'll look for a blown fuse just in case. I'll probably have to have a mechanic figure it out. My air suspension isn't working, so I might as well have it all done at once

Chalk it up to a disconnected wiring harness under the dash (according to the mechanic) that apparently powers the air suspension AND right rear interior lights. Who woulda thunk. Everything is running perfectly now! Phew!
