Default Help!! Abs Pump Wont Turn Off!!!

Hi all... just purchased a 91 ls400. I was going to JUST say hi today and introduce myself today and tell you guys how much im loving my Lex , untill i was on my way home erlier and all of a sudden my CEL and TRACTION OFF lights came on. and then after some stop, shut off engine ,wait for a half hour ,start and drive again, all of a sudden CEL goes away and i get ''TRAC" light inside the dash + ABS + traction off. Later the "TRAC" light went away and now im left with only(ABS and traction off lights)Now i have been doing some reserch and reading here so i ran out of cigarettes. Off to the store i go, shut the engine off and notice a fan or pump noise coming from the engine compartment. thought it was the fan first, so i didn't think much of it, drive back home , turn the car off , noise still there. pop the hood to see wtf is going on, find out noise is coming from some were in the erea by the intake filter(im asuming it's the abs or antilock pump ) . anyhow , again i didnt think of it much, thought it would go away. so just 5 mis ago i went to check on it again , only to find it still on!!!!! and i've been reading here for a good 2 or 3 hours!!!! So it must have been on the whole time and it's still on as i type!! So im going to disconnect the Neg teminal for now i guess and see what happens tommorrow.......

Anyone with any info (on the pump or whatever that noise is) plz come forward as this is seriously freeking me out since i paid $150 for an inspection so i dont run into probs like this..... but hey .$ hit happens i guess, if you know what i mean.......$$$$$
Sorry for such a long post guys.
Thnx in advance.......

Al.

moving this to the proper forum, maybe you'll have better luck.

Try and pull the ABS fuse and see if the noise stops as an attempt to diagnosing the problem. Never heard of this problem before. You sure its the ABS pump?

Replace the relay it is a plug- in................go to a dealer to buy one and then ask one of the mechanics to show you where it is located and just unplug and plug in the new one.

Thnx everyone for your replies. i guess the best way to deal with this is get it scanned for the code or codes , and go from there. as of right now, i just noticed the air filter(k&n) is really, really dirty. so i'm going to clean that and clean my tb. and maybe try to clean the tps sensor(depending on how hard that is. I also just replaced the battery with an Optima red top. Just something to do on the weekend since the STEALER is closed .......

Well ever since i reconnected the battery that noise has gone away(from the pump or whatever). All that comes on now is CEL and traction off. Just waiting to get it scanned and see what comes up.

I'll keep y'all updated..

Al

P.S. : Battery was disconnected all night(about 5 or 6 hours).
