Default In the market for a used LS.....

Recent lurker, first-time poster here . As the title goes, I've been looking at used LS's. I came across one today at a dealer that looked clean and drove pretty smooth (the shifter vibrates more than usual while driving?). It's a 93 and has 115K on it for 7.5K w/ optional warranty. I don't know if the TB/WP was changed out. The salesman said that it "must have" since it's at 115K and it should have been done at 60/90K? (I did not see a service sticker for it) I'll cut to the chase---there is one thing that caught my attention---the transmission fluid. I went and checked it just as I was leaving and it was D-I-R-T-Y! to the point that it didn't even look like transmission fluid. Obviously, I'll have it checked out if I consider it. I just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks for readin'

I would look for a privately owned 95 or 96 for that price. Good luck.

Welcome.

I'd pass on it. For $7.5K, this is within the 95-96 years with similar miles.

Since my last post I've gone through a lot of threads, specific and general on this and other forums. One thing that is WRACKING my brain is whether or not the 2nd gen engine is interference or non-interference! I'm getting conflicting reports everywhere.....unless I missed the thread where someone stated for the record......

Getting back to my original topic, I have come across two ls's. A 95 w/ 115K for 7.5K and a 96 w/ 75K for 9.5K.....decisions decisions........

Default Still searchin'....

So I came across a clean 93 w/ 98K. Took it for a spin. I'm gonna have it checked out. One thing I noticed was fluid building up (droplets were forming) on the transmission housing (I think?) Could this be a transmission gasket issue or power steering leak? If so (transmission gasket) is this normal maintenance work?

That 96 sounds like a pick. Might get it for 8.5 after haggling.
