1992 LS 400 sunroof
There is a leak, apparently on the front of the seal of the sunroof that needs repair. It is my understanding that the seal is part of the sunroof and that replacing the seal involves replacing the sunroof. Is that correct, or is there a simpler (read - cheaper) alternative? Is this a job I can do myself, or am I headed to the dealer for a session with my checkbook?

More than likely, the problem does not involve the seal around the sunroof. Instead, one or both of the small drains at the corners of the sunroof are probably blocked with dirt and other debris.
You have to get these drains opened up.
This problem was discussed on the LS 400 forum in late May. Do a search on "sunroof leak."

Yes, there are four drains. I inferred from the description of where the leak was occurring that the front drain holes were involved.
If the rear drains were blocked, I think the leak would be in the rear seat area or in the trunk.

Sunroof leak
Hi all, I can't find the threads on the sunroof leak but I do spray mine out about once every 6-8 months. I went to a hardware store and fashioned a nozzle with an on/off valve and a tip that fits into the drain holes on the sunroof channel (total cost = $11). I just hook up the hose to this nozzle, and spray them out.
