I used the stock replacement by K& M, that way I can put it back stock with the K&N for doing the Smog.

The rubber bumper is from a hardware store. ( the bumper is needed beacuse the air box will rest on wheel well because the front half of air box is no longer used )

I hope you guys dont mind me bringing back old posts! But I notice that sometimes in thrid gear it will shift at 5 RPMS...now I know my previous LS shifted at like...6300 LOL, so something is wrong here. Do I just follow these steps and it will fix this? Previous owner was an old man, and never got up on it EVER.

So, what exactly does disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes and then driving the car hard with the ECT on do? Does it just train the transmission to shift latter or does it change the way the engine runs?
Like TJW98LS, my car was also originally owned by an older couple. Would this procedure change how it drives?

ECT stands for Electronically Controlled Transmission. Disconnecting the battery will make the car forget the way you drive because it resets the ECU. So after resetting the ECU, you want to make sure your car will be good, so go run the crap out of it to make it think you like to drive fast, and it will make the transmission shift into the redline, which is good. I did this to my car the other day, and I have the SAFC2 which tells you the highest RPMs, and mine was shifting at 6448, and redline is 6500. Im gonna disconnect it again later and go try and set tonight.
