New to Lexus Forum
howdy from Dallas Texas,
Bought a 1993 LS 400 with 163k miles on it from Park Place for $5500. White, with beige leather. Minor items worng with it but body and everythings looks good for the year and miles it has on it. Ive owned a few LS400s before 1991 Es250 Blk/ tan,1993 Ls400 blk/tan, 1995 Blk/tan, 1997 tan/tan coach and loved them, then bought a Jag XJ12. Those cars are nightmares, a mechanics dream to work on since they are always in the shop for repairs, needless to say JUNK.
Thought Id see if anyone could give me some tips. Need to get a new antenna mast installed but radio works good too with out it. My CD changer in trunk just gives me a Err code, not had a chance to see what the deal is with it. Ive flipped the CDs around to see if I put them in wrong but thats not fixing it. Anyone know what it could be or a cheap replacement? I guess the biggest item is the drivers seat. The bottom cushion has a 2in tear in it, any one had these fixed or does it have to be a replacement item? Where do you find a cheap match for the age and year of leather?
Not had it in for service yet to Lexus, but will on the next oil change to Sewell Lexus, they usually give you the report back of the items that need replacement which I will see about outsourcing to a cheaper mechanic if I can get one recommended in the Dallas, Texas area? I called Lexas before purchase and it had its 75k mile service and a few oil changes after that. As for what happened from that to 163k miles not sure. Forgot to ask what teh 75k mile service included, Im hoping they say the timing belt as least. Anyway, let me know your thoughts. Cheers Bryant

go to mobil 1 (10/30).
if radio works well, why do you need a new mast?
my '93 has had a 1" tear in the driver's cushion for three or four years.
it has not progressed.
instead of spending hundreds to have your car checked at the dealership,
apply that money to actual repairs.
don't replace the changer in the trunk.
put an aftermarket cd/mp3/ipod unit in the dash.
