New wheels for 99 LS
I'm looking for the manufacturer of the unique wheels found on the Gold package LS 400 in years 1999 or 2000. They look like a BBS RZ with a Lexus L on the certerpiece. Other than that, anyone know some good chrome wheels in the original 16x7.5 size?

Interesting question. I don't remember a "gold package" being an "official" option prior to 2001 and always assumed it was a dealer installed option. Maybe the option was in the "accessory" catalog. Please, someone correct me if I have it wrong.
Even if they were not official Lexus options, these packages must have been "blessed" by Lexus corporate since so many dealers seemed to be selling similar packages. The local Lexus dealer here sold lots of LS400's throughout the 90's with silver or gold BBS wheels and gold emblems. In fact the local dealer had an extensive selection of wheels from which to choose as a dealer installed option.
My current 00 LS400 came with optional chrome Platinum Series (01 LS430) wheels which were not an official Lexus option - the chrome version of the Platinum wheels were a dealer option but they were still covered under the original 4 year / 50K mile warranty. I know because the dealer replaced all of them for me at no cost at only 38,000 miles because they were badly corroded.
Chrome wheels were available as an official option on the 98-00 LS -- the same style as the regular wheel. In 99 or 00 (I forget which) a spare tire chrome wheel became an official option.
What are "good chrome wheels" is a tough question. If you want to stay with Lexus wheels, chrome wheels in 16" were available on the LS through model year 2003. Any wheel can be chromed although it is likely less expensive to buy them already chromed than to have it done.
Personally I think chrome wheels are a hassle. I tried to get my dealer to replace my chrome wheels with non-chrome wheels when the wheels were replaced under the warranty but I was told that the replacements had to be chrome since the car was sold with them.
