First up: I did search. Granted I didn't spend 15 minutes on it, but I tried.

I'm confused on HOW the trac contol sys. works. Does it reduce engine power / output or does it apply braking to one or both rear wheels?

Also, this thought has crossed my mind more than once- so I'm sure someone else here has thougth of it as well. Has anyone retro-fitted a Supra LSD into our rear diffs? Seems like a good idea... but not sure how it would do with the trac system.

Hi,
I'm own 1992 LS and from my experience there is a power reduction when one of rear wheels looses adherence.
Question is if the TRC uses the same elements which are used by ABS ? (rings on rear wheels etc ?)

the trac system is basically a butterfly throttle that goes before the main throttlebody. take the cover off under ur hood and ul see what i mean.

Hmm... I was afraid of that. The Trac systems that reduce engine output are inferior to the systems that actuate the brakes on the wheel that is slipping, in my book. Good thing there's an off switch for it.

it may be inferior but it still works pretty well given it is over 10 years old. the brake-based trac systems didnt really come full force into the mainstream market untill i think 2000ish
