Ok I appoligize if this has been mentioned but I could not find the correct answer to this question. I need to upgrade my mothers LS400 GPS software it hasnt been doen sence 1999
I would like to do it myself If i can . Where do I get the CD or DVD?, and how would I go about upgrading it I know the Player is in the trunk but GPS menu wise what do I need to do?

(..PS.. sorry if this a allready discussed thread....)

The 2000 is a hard drive system and you need to replace the hard drive. The most current update to the GPS is 2003 and that's it. If you call your local dealer or hit up Irontoad or Sewell they can order you the unit itself. Most places require a deposit or full purchase before placing the order. I have a 2000 LS myself and have the 2001 update and in time will upgrade. I have not checked on the price for the upgrade in some time but believe its between 200-400 bucks. Hope this helps.

I'd like to upgrade the GPS on my 98 LS400. Anyone knows where I can buy the CD and how hard it is to change out the CD? Thx.

i have not updated my navigation system either (mine is a 98).
is there anyway to update it by my self?

Did you happen to miss my post? its RIGHT before yours. Im guessing you didnt read anything in the thread, because you would have already knew its not a CD, but a hard drive.

Where is the Navigation hardisk located in the 98 LS400 and how do you change it out? Thanks. I just check on the Sewell website and it shows they have 2the 2005 upgrade for 300.

This thread on lexusownersclub has a post from a 98 LS owner that indicates that the Nav ECU is in the driver's side floor well in the trunk. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums...c=25401&hl=Nav

This thread also has a link to another thread which has a photocopy of the hard drive replacement instructions from a 00 LS400.
