Default 1993 LS400 I need help with picking out shocks/springs....

I'm in need of purchasing new shocks for my 1993 LS400. I'm working with a budget so, I was wondering if anyone knows if this combo would work good. I want to lower the car but I still want to make sure the ride is still smooth as the stock combo.

KYB GR-2 Shocks or Tokico HP Shocks
H&R Sport Springs

Does anyone know how far this will lower the car? Also, will I need to get camber kits and are there any suggestions to what kind and the cost?

What combo works well together to lower the car and to keep the smooth Lexus ride?

Thanks!

H&R springs will lower the car approximately 1.25". From what I've heard, KYBs ride better than Tokicos...supposedly Tokicos give a sportier ride. You won' t need a camber kit (which will be very difficult to find) but you will need to get an alignment after the springs have settled in.

honestly, if all ur doing is dropping it 2 inches then there isnt any need for a camber kit. only time ul really need that is on either coilovers or air and if ur running like EXTREMELY wide wheels.

KYB GR-2 is like a stock strut/shock, if at best, it may be 10% or so stiffer and I didn't notice a "sportier" ride in any of my cars that had it. The Tokico HP Blues are firmer and I've had them on several of my cars in the past and I like the firmer ride characteristics they give. This depends on what ride qualities you want.

With H&R, the Tokico's are IMO a nicer combo.

I'm looking into getting the Tokico Hp. I was thinking about getting H&R springs also, but I'm going to hold off to see if I can find the Cali Custom springs that another member here has. He says it is a smooth ride as well. And not as costly as the H&R's. What was the drop with the setup that you have (tokico's with h&r's)? And how is the ride? I want to keep the smooth ride.

The Tanabe's are rated at: 1.5 Inch Drop (FR) & 1.0 Inch Drop (RR) But with the Tokico's I feel it's more like 2" in the front and 1.5 in the rear.

How about the ride quality? As smooth as stock?

ha. you'll never get a ride as smooth as stock with aftermarket spring, coilovers, airbags. But that's what you'll have to sacrafice to make your car look good.

but the ride isn't bad though. a million times better than a civic dropped on neuspeed springs. lol

You can also get the Cali Springs off Ebay...That's where I bought mine.
