Default Valve cover gaskets?

Hello,

I need to change the valve cover gaskets on a 92 LS. How hard is it?

Turns out there was a mixup and my 'valve seals' were really valve cover gasket issues. The one on the rear is the one leaking slightly but I'll probably replace both. I haven't looked into it at all but I assume you still have to remove the intake manifold, being the hardest part.

Hello,

I allready did the job. I did the passenger side first and it turned out to be the harder one. The intake manifold can stay in place.
The car had 465000km on it when I did the job. Here are some pics.

Hello,

only on the drivers side cover was that much buildup! The price for 2 gaskets and 16 plates for the bolts and the TB gasket was around 50 or 60$ at the Lexus Dealer.

Excellent, that doesn't look too bad at all. Did you do the cam plugs or any other maint. while the valve covers were off, or at least clean them up?

Hello,

yes I cleaned everything so the covers looked like new, but the passenger side cover almost had no buildup. I also checked the valve clearence which was perfect.
