Hello Everyone,

I wanted to come on board and greet everyone since this is my first post on this forum. Ihave browsed through much ofthe threads and have found a wealth of information.
I have a 94 LS in excellent condition which I purchased last year, I have an opportunity to change out the original 16" stock rims since my Brother-in Law recently upgraded the rims on his 2003 IS300 to 20". I know the stock IS 17" rims will fit on the LS but I was wondering if anyone new how wide I could go onthese rims and what size I could go without changing the overall size of the wheel. Thanks

Juan

Welcome bro! Post some pictures of your ride.
Also, please be more specific about what you're asking. Like, the size of rims? or size of tires on stock rims?

The width of the stock IS rim is probably only 7.5. The most you could do is 245. Anything above that the tire would just hang off the rim. IMO moving away from 16" should at least be an 18"-19", but it all matters what you like.

Hey I haven't forgotten to thank everyone for the responses just been out of the country. I still need to decide wether to use the IS's rims with the 245's rear 235 front and not sacrifice much comfort if any at all or to go with 18s or 19s as suggested and ride a bit rougher. I know my bro's IS with 20s is a harsh ride although it corners beautifully and I'm looking for more comfort from the LS. Thanks

Welcome aboard Juan,

I'd go with a 225 or 235 width tire on the IS wheels. If you're not planning to mess with the suspension, then go with 18's or 19's. I can tell you from personal experience that the ride is still very comfortable on 18's.
