Hello All,

I can't thank you enough for sharing this information. I had this problem. I wouldn't have begun to know where to even look for the solution, or even which system to zero in on. I wouldn't have known there were wires under that hinge! Sure enough, I had the white/black stripe wire broken. Fixed, problem solved.

The biggest satisfaction comes from the huge improvement in the drivability of the car now! The trans was doing some funky things before the repair -- like downshifting at 20mph when I pressed the brake pedal. Really rough, non-Lexian stuff. Now all gone.

i started to have this problem. i was told that maybe my transmission is bad and i would need a new one, but in my gut i felt that i should do reaserch.. so here i am. im going to check if this is my issue.. i hope because my lexus is my everything
