Default how to check check engine light ?

ive tried to check my check engine light so many times . i keep running back and forth from the computer and the car but i cant find where people say to jump a paper clip from e1 to te1 . i dont see where the port is at . does anyone have a picture of where this port is ?

please, either fill out your profile, or let us know what year it is.

If its a 96+ you can have them read you the codes for free at autozone.

You jump e1to te1 at the little grey box that says "diagnosis". Its located left of the oil filler cap

if u look under the diag cover...ull see witch 1 is witch...make sure car is not runing but the koeo
watch the check engine flash
write down how many flashes and repost

okay now i see the gray circle thing . but now my problem is that there is no cap . so i dont know which one is e1 and te1 . can anyone try to somehow which hole is which ? thanks

On the (down-facing) inside of the top Cap of the OBDI connector has the labelling of the 'ports'.

I called them one time for a 99 GS400. They told me for the OBDII, they can sell me the reader for $183.99. I can use it, then return it for a full refund. But they won't read the code for me. Might be a California thing?

Screw that!

Around here, you can go to your local Autozone or Advance auto and they'll check it for free.

But, you might have to wait in line.
