Default holy SMOKE batman! (after a hard run....)

Couldn't resist doing a short highway blast of fast acceleration and high revs (3500-4500) range today. Only briefly though, and most of it was just high speed cruising, with a few aggressive kickdowns for fun. Maybe 10min max of this "pleasure"

Anyways, so I get off the highway, to my friends house. Pull up to a stop sign, and notice a moderate cloud of Grey smoke behind the car!!!

It quickly dissipated (5seconds or so) and there was no more smoke when the car idled while parked.

Have I horribly damaged my poor lexus?? Or is it simply the result of "blowing off the cobwebs" after 14 years of gentle driving by elderly owners....

it depends on what the smoke's color was and what it smelled like. no way to be 100% sure just with the description you gave tho.

Yeah i know lol my description is not very definite, but I only saw it briefly in my rear view mirror.

I would characterize the smoke colour as Medium grey.

Other factors:

Ambient temp 90degrees and humid
Car guages all fine at normal position
Fluids all at appropriate levels.

Does anyone have any suggestions for "blowing off the cobwebs" after the car has been gently driven so long? I was thinking of a highspeed highway run at like 3-4000rpm for a coupla hours with an Oil change right before?? Or right after?? I guess before would be better....?

btw, you can achieve the same effect going 20Mph in first gear.

Did you by any chance just refill any fluids? sometimes someone can spell some on the "hot spots" so when that area overheats, it smokes out.

I hate it when someone spills oil on the engine.

Smoking due to "blowing off the cobwebs" after the car has been gently driven so long?
I think not!

Apparently you've never heard of carbon buildup.

Thant's why I have a 92 LS and a 95 LS. The 92 never shifts until the RPMs have reached 5,000 sometimes even redline. I have been doing that for 50k miles since I purchased the car. It never whines, never complains. She has 220k miles on her. That's what I got this car for. FUN. Revving to 3-4k rpm should not shake up your LS. Repeat the procedure, if the symptoms resurface, have the car checked.

Yeah, I don't understand people that think taking the lex over 4000rpm's is an adventure of some sort becaue I'll do that on a daily basis. I don't have a the 1UZFE engine, but the 2jz in my sc3 and I've driven several 1uzfe cars, it DOES NOT HURT to redline them. I've heard of these engines being pushed to 11,000rpm's in racing situations!! You've probably never gotten enough flow of air in the engine to blow that stuff out. Use some seafoam if you really want to clean it.

Well alls well that ends well I have changed the oil a few weeks ago and have been driving it moderately aggressively up to 4k regularly. Haven't seen any smoke and the old princess runs with the best of them!
