Cool

hey im about to buy some lowering springs for my `90 LS 400. some people have been telling me that it's hard to drop it because it has the air shocks.is this true? or they just don't want to mess with it? i want to know, will lowering my car, hmmmm say 1-1.75, destroy or deter my suspension in anyway? it is a daily driver. oh yeah and if i drop it, do i have to buy a camber kit? i want to lower my car but i want to know if the outcome comes with many problems or not. if anyone has the same car as me and they have dropped their car, could you tell me your experiences with your suspension and how much you spent on labor for that?much appreciation

If you have a AIR SUSPENSION equipped LS, you can NOT lower it with springs...you have to REMOVE the entire system and put in springs and shocks...

Lowering your car a inch or so won't ruin the ride...but you should also buy "lowered" shocks...

hey manaray,

Is it actually possible to replace the air suspension with regular shocks?
is it a huge job or just replacing one shock with the other, etc?
and how does the computer deal with it?

You can but it will be a huge job and you will lose your air suspension control on your dash.

thanks for the info. does any company in the u.s. supply the whole system you are talking about(the air suspension)? how much am i looking to spend on the system and where can i get it from? will the back have to have the same as the front, considering that the air system controls just the front suspension?any suggestions?thanks

Here's a thought, I don't know if this will work but it should, try moving the height sensors at each corner(@ the Lower Control arm(s)). I had a Mark VIII that I did this on just for grins it worked The car looked good a well as sitting about 1.5" lower all the way around.

Exclamation

hey rollin,

i think that just might work.in the owner's manual it says to always disengage the air suspension in the trunk before raising or lowering the car. ok so where are the sensors at and how do i manipulate them to lower? will this mess up my alignment and cause problems?thanks
