Default What's your opinion on 20" Axis Mod fitting a 97 LS400?

http://www.axiswheels.com/mod.html
I'm deciding if I should pick up the 20" Mods for my '97 LS400. What do you guys think of Axis? Are their product any good? Will the 20x9 front fit?
Thanks,

Thanks,
I highly suggest the 19's if you want to lower it. IF you don't lower it with the 20's it looks like a 4-wheel drive. You have to make adjustments to your fenders when you lower on the 20's. So I say the 19's most def.
Check this thread out, it's a 98 or 99 sitting on 20's Realize it's real high?

Personally, I think the Mods are a little sporty for the LS, but if that's what you like, more power to ya.

I wouldn't call Axis wheels good quality...maybe "ok" at most, but not enough to be purchased. They also make a lot of knock-offs, which is why I don't think very highly of them. I suggest saving up a little more and getting a quality set of wheels (i.e. Work, Iforged, etc.).

BTW, take TJW98LS's advice.

I dont really want Axis but I can get a really good deal on it.... 20" with tires and it is taken out of a GS which was a show car so not much wear on it at all...

That is not at all true. If you get the proper wheel specs, the 2nd and 3rd Gen Celsiors can be lowered on 20" wheels with NO fender modifications.

Here is a pic of our 2000 Celsior (same chassis as 1997) with 20" staggered wheels and lowered suspension. The lowering is rated at about 1.5 but the car has settled to nearly 2 inches. NO FENDER MODS, NO RUBBING!

damn that LS looks nice on them Lowenharts!!! what are the specs that u used? are those 30profile tires? Also... what type of offset is recommended for the 97LS? I searched around and a site said that it had medium offset at +20 but a lot of wheels that I have seen are 35-45....

Well I guess there is ONE solution, try posting those specs on here for your 92-00 so everyone who owns one of those wouldn't have to send mail.

Well I just picked up the 20" mod by Axis w/o tires. What size tires do u guys recommend for this car? Also the width in the front is 9" and 10" in the rear. I hope it fits in the front as I read in the forums that most people have 8.5" in the fronts...
I'm thinkin 245/35/20 front? will that fit or is it too thin for 9"?

please pardon my ignorance but i always thought that the 98-00 cars had one chassis and the 95-97 cars had another one?

245/35/20 is fine on a 20x9. It might be better to go for the stretched look by going with a 235 width tire just in case you have rubbing issues. Any idea what the offsets are?
