Default 1998-2000 ls400 q's

I'm currently in the market for a 1998-1999 LS400 and I have a few questions.

1: Do all of the cars come with Xenon/HID headlights?
2: How can I discern whether a car has Air Suspension without physically looking. (I'm finding that some people who are selling their cars have no clue themselves).
3: Are Daytime Running Lights something that I can disable? I am well aware of the supposed saftey benefits, but I think I'm quite capable of turning the lights on when I notice that the sun is going down, or that the weather has taken a turn for the worse. (Not trying to be cheeky, merely stating my opinion)
4: Does anybody (online resource) have a list of option packages that will help answer some of these questions?

Thanks for your concideration, and possible response!

1. No, but halogen low beams are rare after 98. HID was "optional" on 98-00 LS.
2. Height and ride quality switches by the shifter. I would not reject a 98-00 with air susp.
3. I suppose. DRL's were added with the 99 model year - 98's don't have them.
4. Use the search feature of this forum - been covered before.

Thanks for the input. The reason for the Air suspension question was for future reference. I'll probably be doing some modifying to bring the ride height down. I consider this a non-performance modification, as all it will do is change the appearance. not increase performance.

I can only answer your first question.
The HID low-beams were part of an option package with the sunroof and 6-CD changer, for something like $1000 bucks. Every LS of that generation I ever looked at when shopping had this package. So, if the thing has a sunroof its extremely likely it has the HID headlights too.

You can get an idea of the 2000 option packages still on the model library on the Lexus website. They've pulled down the 1999 and 1998 since they no longer qualify for CPO.

Not really, there are ones with the sunroof and no HID's. Sun roof came in other packages as well, so you really kinda have to start them up and go check from the front. HID's are also Autoleveling.

Great find, I thought they were gone from the Lexus website forever!

Can this info be placed in our website archive section of the LS400?
