Default Who has 90-94 LS All options or Stock?

Hate to waste your time with a non-mechanical related issue, but.
Am I the only fella riding around in a first gen lex without:

air-ride
traction control
heated seats
and back seat radio...etc.etc.

I beginning to feel like I got a Fast Camry.

No seriously, I really must have the most basic LS of them all.
No Nak- sound sys either. Straight Pioneer.

I don't have anything on it like a "real" lexus should have.
And looking at anyone's 00 + up makes me cringe, and my wallett runs away from me in fear.....

Yeah yeah yeah, Sob It Up!
Stock-LS boy!

Alright back to the questions.... Who else or how many peeps have a basic LS like mine?

No NAV, no Trac, no Air-ride, no heated seats, no backseat radio, no TV's.....just kidding on the last one. Not an option.

You shouldnt feel bad about yours...

I have the basic amongst the basic of LS 1st gen.

No leather seats (something I really wanted)
No trac control (not something I would use anyways)
No heated seats (dont really need those)
No sunroof (one more thing I really wanted)
No Nak radio (which I dont care)
No air suspension (which I am glad)

But its still drives sooo smoothly that I love it everytime I drive it, and plan on upgrading and keeping it.

You shouldn’t feel bad at all, first of all, having air ride on the first gen was more of a dilemma then an actual constructive option ($1200+ per strut). Second, the Nak was not at all that common, nor were heated seats. No Navi was offered in 92, and no LS ever sold in the USA had rear A/C and or Radio controls till the '01 with the ultra package (MSRP close to $74,000).

So your pretty much left with only three options your missing:

1. Heated seats
2. Nak Radio (rare find, so you’re among the majority)
3. Trac (this is pretty much the most important feature you are missing).

I'd say you’re among the 70%+ LS owners out there. You should be glad you have a sunroof and leather seats, unlike a few LS's I have seen

Here you go, only in Japan, some sold out of japan with rear A/C too.... avaliable since 1990 (yup, they had the ultra package all along).

Default Wow! that's sick

Pagong,
I feel for you now.

No sunroof????
Eeesh!
No leather??!

And Are you serious? No leather? I almost don't belive you.

I guess I do have it made.
ANd I'm not too worried about the AIR, because of all the posts about fixing and $$$.
Seems to me I'd rather have a "wear-item" that actually cost less to replace.

And the normal Suspension that is on the LS is great. Even if mine haven't been replaced yet.
I guess what I'm really missing is the Trac and heated seats.
Which HELPS A LOT on cold leather.
Hell! Don't the new ones have Hot and Cold?

anyways.......

backseat radio
I thought that there were some out there, i.e. Coach edition. Don't know what years...... that had backseat radio like the newer ones.
My rugrat isn't old enough to worry about that yet but, it be nice to shut some people up on a long drive.....

GRAND_LS 4 ---> nice pick of the backseat!
Green with envy.

Consolation Prizes:
I do have the Silver on Dark Silver paint job. Which I think is the best match for the LS.
At least I have a sunroof and Leather.

How about this fellas? Doesn't it grate your nerves to have to get out in the heat and cold to change CD's? The newer cars have the changer in the Glove box.
Oh and the jump from 250 hp to 350 hp really gets me.
And don't the new Camry's get over 200 hp now?
They sure do look sweet with those Alum. Toyota rims and the Toyota ground FX.
Maybe next time. But I got the LS for classic luxury and a boat-like ride, because I missed my Bonneville and I love how BIG cars drive.

Yup, that back seat drove me nuts for a while, wish i had that. As i said, the only one sold in the US with these features are the 2001's with the ultra package, none before. Glove box CD Changer is always a plus (my previous car had it back in the trunk.). By the way, no Lexus comes factory with 350HP. The LS is still 290Hp 325Tq since 2001.

Default Ooops my mistake

my mistake, I don't no where I got that but I've always thought that once they moved to FWD , and the 430 came about, I thought they had tuned 350 hp out of the motor.
Oh well.

I guess we all have to look at other makes and models of the same era.
Around our years (90-94)
The Benz's 380, 420 sel and 500 are pretty much like the LS
BMW's 7series doesn't quite do it, too sporty, same with the 8.
Q45 + Audi + even American luxury cars were pretty much still utilitarian but comfy.
Thinking of the 1989 car & driver comparison or was it motortrend? Anyways...

I guess during that time frame we were all on the same playing field.

Now, its a different era. The digital-age has brought Computer crazy technology into every mid to high Luxury car and Truck, oh I mean SUV or is it SUT?

But going up in years really does turn me green. But like I said, $$.
I'm not your typical demographic that drives a Lexus.
I know Toyota wasn't thinking about me when the made the car.
(mid twenties + hispanic)

I'm not really *****ing, but I just wanted to compare what I drive to others who have our Generation Lex.

Yes I am serious.

Its a 1990 Lexus LS400 burgundy with matching burgundy cloth interior. The leather interior was something I always wanted but really dont care for it any more, since we have some really good "group buys" here sometimes with one of our vendors.

The LS was never, and never will be FWD. Been RWD since introduction in 1989. But when the LS430 came out, Tq was bumped from 300 to 325

You feel bad? I have a 94 LS400 with a literally taped up (yes, duct tape) Nakamichi system that hits hard only on certain frequencies.

No speedo that works in the cold weather.

A car that stops.. sometimes... when I'm lucky.

And my mom has a LS430 UL with everything, that works...!

Default Okay Okay

Okay fellas

Who is feeding me this crap about other Gen. Lexus?
FWD! Come on now! I should have known better.

here is a nice article on FWD vs RWD.
And mentions Lexus/Toy frequently.

Sorry peeps.

I knew deep down that that was BS.
I just hate myself for repeating garbage.
