Default Buying a 1994 Ls400

Anything to look out for? What problems do these cars have?(if any....lol )BTW, my friend is selling it and he says it has no problems. 120k miles, red leather? was that popular? any pics of the red leather, 20x8.5 Lexani wheels, Punch subs tvs on the headrests, clear corners, tint, lowered, and in dash tv monitor. $3,000 Why so cheap? The car ran perfect and looked immaculate inside and out. BTW it's white with (gray on the bottom)?

RED LEATHER? the leather was probably recovered or sprayed or something. I don't think red was an option for the leather in that car.

$3000 sounds ok if it hasnt been ghettofied too much. Sometimes the more mods you do to the car have the reverse effect - they actually lower the value of the car.

Well around chicago the prices are all around $8000 and above for this car. IIRC, the leather was red or maybe black? forgot. BTW, what has got to be wrong with the car if it's selling for this cheap?

And were there any major problem with the 94 ls?

that's like my Trade-In price for my 93' LS400 216k miles in it...
$2500-$3200 Dealer Trade in Price per KBB.com

Its got to be definetly something wrong with the car, but only 120k miles?
Red leather? Never Ever seen b4...and it's ugly color. makes you feel too old with red leather interior.
Or...maybe his desperate? nah...there's gotta be something wrong with it.
Or...maybe the seller isn't financially able to handle the car payments, maintenance, etc. since you know their 2x 3x more expensive than any cars.

Most LS400 is Pearl White and Pearl Gray bumpers. some black and some silver.

Most stock interior leather is gray or Tan leather. Red must been painted...to match with the red dash in that picture.

Modding the car does lower the price a lil. but not that much. But as long the engine and under the hood is stock. no aftermarket intake or whatever. and Your car has no air suspension? that's ok, they wore out and don't last forever and even expensive !! I have to replace my LR air suspension.

I would take that ride if i was you plus all the goodies? like lexani wheels and nav system. Tv's and subwoofers?!! whoa you got urself a jackpot. Only if your able to able to handle the price of maintenance of the car. but You can always find a discount or good deal off websites or get tips here from CL. You better get that deal, or I will.

Just wish there were some nice aftermarket headlights and a nice grille to change it.

Cars have never been a good investment. That's why a lot of people shy away from mods, they have a negative impact on resale value or NO impact at all.

i know right, Lexus LS4 is already fast enough with that huge V8 engine with 4 cams.
Just the Rims and tint is all it needs for exterior. Adding upgrades to the car just makes the car have more problems in future. but i don't get it, why upgrade a LS400? it's a dang luxury car not a sports car!

Check the AC, make sure it works$350, Check the LCD for the climate control system, they are usually burnt out, it doesn't affect its use its just a nag $250+. Check the power steering system, the gen1 LS had problems with both the pressure hose and the pump$$$=?. Check the alternator, because of its location to the Power steering system, they tend to burn out from the fluid leaking into them$250. Test drive a couple of times between 50 and 60 mph, see if it vibrates,if it does can you live with that, I don't think anyone has ever pinpointed that problem$+your sanity. Find out when it had its last tune up, and make sure it was done with platnium plugs, and its getting close to a timing belt change$$$$$$=????? Instrument cluster, drive it in the cold after its been sitting, see if the speedometer works $200+ fix. And new leather seats will cost around $600-$1000,unless you like that ghetto fab look.
