Default Is it possible to install an aftermarkert HeadUnit in a 98-2000 LS400 with Nav

Is it possible to install an aftermarkert HeadUnit in a 98-2000 LS400 with Nav?? I am looking into purchasing a 98-2000 LS400 with Nav. I am wondering is it possible, I can install a new Headunit (Eclipse) and still use the Lexus Navigation? Is there enough space under the Navigation to put a normal size Din radio?

If you intend to keep the Nav then there's no room unless you customize where the ashtray is and install the head unit there.

Keep the Nav, and hook up a 4 channel amp instead!

Will the Nav be fully functional with an aftermarket HU? Or will disconnecting the HU from the Nav system shut the Nav off??

Might be a bit more difficult/complex then you think since the radio & Nav are built into one another,
it's basically one unit. If you can figure out which wires are for what behind your HU then it should still be functional but you may also run the risk of loosing some features in the Nav so it's a tough call. Before you do anything I'd advice you to stop into a reputable automotive stereo & navigation installation place in your area for precise expert advice.
