Personally, I thought my 1st gen LS, a 90, was quite a handfull in the snow even though I always used four snow tires and carried two bags of sand in the trunk. But my old LS did not have TRAC. It was particularly difficult to drive in deep snow and worse on ice - the early ones (especially 90-92) with 15" wheels seemed to have less clearance between the underbody and the road than beginning in 93 with the 16" wheels.
From new, my 90 LS seemed to have even less clearance than normal and I aways wondered if 90 LS's with cloth interior like mine came with different springs. My next door neighbor bought an LS in 89 - a few months before I did - and his LS measured over 1 inch taller than mine. The only difference between his and mine was that his had leather upholstery.
