Default My One Complaint-TIRES-DUNLOP

My '04 LS came with Dunlop tires. I got the car last December, so the dealer installed my NOKIAN winter tires at the time. I had the Dunlops reinstalled in March. Well, they now have 7500 miles on them and I can see some serious wear on one of the front tires. Yet it's EVEN wear (not an alignment problem) and I check the pressure twice a month, religiously. The other front tire also has wear, but not as significant. Is this normal? When I had Michelin's on my old Mercedes S320, they wore better. How are all of you doing with Dunlops?

if the tires have warranty and you should have them replaced since they only have 7500 miles on them.
the warrantly should be atleast 50K, atleast that's what it is on most other brands.
good luck.

I dunno what model this is, A D60-A2 model I had many years ago wore out in 10K miles. As a supposed modest car tire it was stated to me they would go for 30K miles, I was disappointed. CR had good comments but their results were 180 degress from my experience.

I have had decent initial performance with Dunlops, but they wear quickly. I ran a set on my old lowrider truck and they deteriorated fast. My father has a Millenia with Dunlops and they have gotten quite noisey (35000kms on the tires) - an annoying hum has developed. I'd highly recommend Michelin's as they seem to offer more uniform performance throughout the tires life. I have old X-ones on my LS and they are still good even though they are quite worn now.

I have had considerable experience in recent years with Dunlop tires. However, these were tire models produced several years ago.

I just replaced a set of Dunlop GT 35 tires on my 96 4-Runner. These tires lasted over 70,000 miles and performed well. However, near the end of their lives, they became very noisy.

I used Dunlop D60 A2's on both my 94 ES 300 and my 93 LS 400 for several years during the late 90's and early 2000 years. As someone else mentioned, these tires were highly rated by Consumer Reports. This was the primary reason I used them. I got about 30,000 miles on the tires on both cars. I believe I had two sets on the ES 300 and one set on the LS 400. They performed well; however, as with the tires on the 4-Runner, they got noisy as they aged.

The only negative on the Dunlops is the noise.

i had the dunlop sp9000's........235.35.19 all around.........

sucked ***.......only had for like 15k miles and they already started cracking on inside tire.............

i was unlucky to find out after i blew out one of the tires on the freeway.....checked other 3 and they were cracking as well.........i will never buy dunlop tires again..........ended up tossing the other 3 for preventative measures.........

Yeah, I am not happy either. I plan to install my NOKIAN WR winter tires in 2 weeks. After winter, I guess I'll buy a set of Michelins. Lexus should take care of me on this but I am sure that ain't gonna happen.

I haven't had any problems with my Dunlaps and this is my second set. For the money I think they are nice overall tires.
