Default Connecting the idle up valve hoses to each other

Been reading past posts, and was wondering about this power steering fix. What's the harm in doing this? Any? I'm sick of the white smoke at start up.

I did that for about two weeks before I had the air control valve in my 93 LS 400 replaced. The only difference I noticed was a slightly lower idle speed.

I didn't connect the two lines together. I just blocked off the line that hooks into the air intake and the one that connects to the top of the engine. You would also need to close off the ports to which they connect.

Why not get the valve replaced? It only costs about $70.00 from Toyota dealers on the internet. The installation is fairly easy if you are mechanically inclined. It's just hard to get to. Any independent garage should be able to replace it in less than an hour.

If its smoking, get the valve replaced. PS fluid doesnt belong in the motor.
