Angry twisted seat

I hope you guys don't encounter this problem, but only one side of my driver's seat will adjust now. I looked at the DIY on retrodrive's site, but no luck . I think that the plastic shaft is only a cover for the metal shaft inside. . . but I did try sliding the plastic cover over, nad even gluing. I was left with only one solution, hahaha, I adjusted the seat as far up as it would go, twisted as it was, sat in the rear seat, put both feet up(shoes off), and PUSH. Breathe breathe, PUSH, breathe breathe, PUSH. Either the seat would give or I'd give birth to something un-Godly. Anyway, after pushing as hard as I could the seat gave a loud snap, and it moved! Repeat. I pushed that sucker until it was untwisted. I know this was probably a bad idea, but driving 40 miles home with a half reclined half upright seat is not a good idea. You know I never even noticed that my seat was broken until a friend pointed out that it looked crooked. I tried adjusting it down all the way, and boom, curiousity killed the cat. Now I know why my right arm is always more tired than my left-- I have to reach further with it! I'm sorry to say, but I'm glad I will be getting rid of this car soon. . .
Does/did anybody have the same problem and were able to fix it?

I have that problem with mine and I am just thinking of replacing it with another from a junked LS. It is without a doubt very annoying and uncomfortable, that is why I have put a pillow on the right side to even it out withthe left...

I don't know if you want to try, but the ol' push and heave method that I tried DID work. A bit crude, but you can get that thing untwisted. I have a feeling that finding a junked seat of the same color will be difficult if not expensive. . .

yeah it is hard to find a nice pair of front seats without breaking the bank. I will try that ol "push" trick and see if it works.

remember you will need both feet pushing. . . it takes a lot a force. You will feel a loud click, as you are forcing the gears, but it does work
