Default Help me locate the trans cooler line

I want to do a tranny flush on my '95 LS400. An old post talks about disconnecting it at the lower driver side of the radiator. I looked in there last night and saw various lines. Which one is it? Do I access it from underneath or above? Is it in front or in back of the radiator? Is it a simple clamp or screwed on? I guess I could try and trace the lines and find out which go the trans, but I thought I'd ask you guys first.

I'm confused, why would you need to disconnect a coolant line? What old post are you referring to?

I'm not sure how to do a tranny flush, but a drain and refill is similar to changing your oil. How are you going to do a flush?

Incorrect. A tranny oil change if done like an oil change will only drain 2 quarts of tranny fluid. A flush allows you to replace all the fluid in the tranny (a lot of it is in the torque converter and needs to be cycled through). To do this, you disconnect the tranny line going into the radiator and run the motor. It will pump old fluid out through this line, as you pour new fluid into the tranny.

I was correct, a drain and refill is like an oil change. I was talking about two different things, sorry I wasn't very clear; a flush (gallons) and a drain (2 quarts). Now I know what's envolved with a DIY flush. It don't sound too bad. I looked through my materials for a while and can't seem to find this line. You may have to trace it unless someone knows. In that other thread Pilot says it's on the driver's side of the radiator. Good luck

Colby is correct.
The pan only holds approximately 2 quarts while the torque converter houses the other 10 quarts. If you plan on doing a complete transmission fluid change you need to disconnect the transmission return line hose ( a metal hose with a screw type fitting) in order to pull all the fluid from the torque converter.

Anyway, it should be the bottom line on your radiator.
