Finally got around to replacing mine today on a 153,000 mile 94 LS.

Was not prepared for 2 things : The huge improvement in smoothness & audible engine noise & the embarrasing condition the original mounts had been in. The rubber on both mounts was no longer even connected within the mount , it had split in two from wear ,tear, and age.

I'm big on maintenance , but this is a must if your LS has gone significantly beyond 100,000

Install was $175.00 including the transmission mount & parts were $180.00 ( not including the $50.00 trans mount)

So far more impressive improvement than changing all 4 struts awhile back.

I used Carson Toyota for the mounts and the EGR Pipe , specifically Bobby Quintero.
If it has to be a Toyota Part I usually find this to be the best place.

My EGR pipe was cracked when I purchased the car years ago (unknown to me at the time) My guess is that the motor mounts were already in poor condition which allowed the EGR pipe to break as well.

I replaced my rack and pinion because it was leaking on my 90 LS400. I know I should replace the mounts because I had to jack the transmission up slightly to give me enough room to get the rack and pinion out. It appeared to me that you would have to move the rack and pinion out of the way to get at the engine mount on the drivers side. Obviously for $175 labor he was able to do it without removing the rack and pinion. Just wondering how he got at the mount on the drivers side?

Not sure. I was not there to witness. I had it done at a well respected transmission shop, so they have not only lifts aplenty but transmission specific jacks to aid them. My next lowest quote was $375.00 for labor only. My R&P has a visible leak but I can afford a bunch of fluid before I undertake that!! I add once every 4 months or so.

Engine is scary quite now.

mine arent bad, but i heard of people injecting silicone into them, like drilling a hole into them and fill w/ silicone? or just injecting into the holding around the mount? just curious if anyone did/heard of this

My 94 mounts were definitely not fluid filled. All rubber.

I think the latest RXs have liquid filled mounts, but the older LSs have rubber mounts.

94 LS 400 Parts:

12361-50100 Insulator X 2 : These are the left & right motor mounts and were $176.00 total

12371-50100 Insulator X 1: Tranny Mount at $55.00 total

Just realized that my profile does not show my location , but I'm in Dallas and had it done at A-1 United Transmission in Garland. They have been around forever & have a great reputation. I sure hope that I never need them for actual tranny work though.

On a 90-94 LS400 book labor rates are 1 hour per side for the front mounts and .6 hours for the rear mount.Just FYI.
