EMERGENCY!!! Need Help ASAP!!!
Everyone,
Just changed my ignition wires to VITEK performance wires and my engine doesn't run right!
I think I might have mixed them up
Does anyone have a diagram?
I need to use the car in an hour or so.
Please Help.
Thanks in advance.

For my 1990 LS400
Standing in front of the car looking at the engine.
Left side of the engine, cylinders from front to back are numbered #2, #4, #6, #8.
Right side of the engine, cylinders from front to back are numbered #1, #3, #5, #7.
Left Distributor from outboard working to the center, wires should be routed as follows: #2, #8, coil, #3, #5.
Right distributor working from outboard toward the center, wires should be routed as follows: #1, #7, coil, #6, #4.

You guys are life savers!
Thanks a lot!
Everything is fine now, thanks to you.
Here is what happened:
I was replacing wires one-by-one in order to avoid mixing them up.
When it came to # 6 and 4 to be plugged into the cap, my wife came out of the house and started giving me grief for spending time with the car
That's when it happened... I unplugged both of them and forgot where each one goes.
So, I took a guess and plugged them the way I thought they should go.
Needless to say, I was wrong. As soon as I reconnected intake and started the engine, "Check Engine" came on and "Track Off" began flashing. I figured no problem, I'll just switch the two wires around and everything will be OK. So, I switched the wires, started the engine and the same thing happened again.
That's when I panicked and ran to open this thread.
The thing is, even after I set all the wires straight, the problem remained. Finally, I decided to reset computer. After that, the problem was fixed.
Again, thanks for all your help!
As far as noticing any improvement with the Vitek wires… I can’t really say. I guess this means that all the effort was not worth it. But then again, these wires were only $10 more than dealer set, so nothing to lose there, since my old wires were pretty old.
