Damn rock!
Got a nasty 8 in. crack in my windshield on my drive to MD yesterday. Good thing is that the glass was very pitted so I suppose getting a new one for a modest insurance deductible isn't all bad.
Any suggestions on how to go about making sure the glass is top notch? Should I demand OEM? Is it possible to do so? Please advise, thanks.

I agree, OEM should be the best. I hate those damn rocks too, they fly up out of no where. A couple weeks ago a rock hit my windshield and left a decent sized chip...no cracks yet though.

I had the same problem last month. I couldn't believe it.... Car is 10 years old and stayed in Florida for 9 years and the windshield was original with no nicks or cracks. I had the car 6 months and now have 2 dings already. Gotta love that MS clay it does wonders for our roads. Anyway got the nicks fixed the same day and they haven't moved yet. How much did the new Windshield cost?
