My 2000 LS Exhaust got wrecked by road debris
well the silencer, interconnect pipe and muffler on the passenger side got all banged up after runniing over a chunk of wood on Route 95 in MA. Nothing I could do to avoid it. The system doesn't leak but I want to fix it anyway. I'm now considering my first mod I guess. After searching here and other places it seems that no one makes a cat back system for the 2000LS. So my choices are go to the local bone yard and get a system and bolt it on, build up something like jbrady's setup or bite the bullet and order new.
There is a custom exhaust shop near me in NH so if someone has a recommendation for after market silencers and mufflers, i can have them Mendrel bend the pipes and piece it together. I would want a low growl but still in keeping with the character of the LS.
It looks like the entire assembly is one piece from the center resonator out to the left and right silencers and mufflers. Is that right?
Thanks for your help.

Murph,
The factory cat back system consists of 4 parts. The front pipe which includes the 1st Y pipe and center resonator. The silencer section which includes the rear Y pipe and the 2 silencers. The 2 rear mufflers.
I think you have damaged one of the silencers and one of the mufflers. This would require replacing the silencer section (both silencers) and one muffler. You are probably looking at $700-1000 at the dealer and you are back to plain old restrictive stock. You would probably pay $200 or so at a wrecking yard for the same parts. Labor is easy but if you are not used to working on cars you should have it done.
Custom exhaust is another thing altogether. What is your goal and budget?
PM me if you want to discuss a full upgrade or want some Y pipes and stainless mufflers.
