HID Lighting
I have the 99LS with HID and I relly like them, however the GX 470 does not offer them? Anyone tried to install an after market HID system? If so where did you get them from?
Thanks Peter

It's not HID kit but with 7000K brightness, I guess people won't know it's not HID.
I will give it a try maybe by the end of this month.

Folks we have a specific forum for lighting questions like HID kits and you might get more advice there. Some new laws recently went into effect (I'm sure others will chip in on this) that I believe restricted all sales of aftermarket HIDs, so I think you're out of luck unless you get a generic kit somewhere from a private seller.

Hey no problem, not a stupid post! . Check this forum for folks that may be able to help you find some kits if you still want one. Might not be specific for your GX, but could be made to work.

I have the Silverstars for my high beams and they are awesome. Truely white and not that fake blue look. Too bad they don't make the H11 low beams.
Anyway I am interested in the Nokya only if they are truely a "white" color and not a "blueish" color.
Also they show as 100 watts, wouldn't that be a problem since the GX low beams are rated at 55 watts??

You might want to check out my thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=98568 for a possible HID conversion.

The color temp on these bulbs are 4100K which is 100K above the Silverstars.
I talked to them and they said that they are actually a little true whiter than the silverstars and I believe them.
I will keep you all informed. They shipped today, will arrive on Friday, on be put on by my dealer this weekend.
Thanks for the link super_cjc.
I spent all morning emailing back and forth the rep. from there and they seem straight up.

I did notice that on the silverstars on my high beams that they use a purpleish/blue filter to achieve that whiter look without getting into that fake blue color.
So, the search still continues for a Silverstar equivelent that is made in the H11 or wait for 6 months to a year for Sylvania to come out with an H11.
