Hi,

Where and how can I mount HID ballasts in the engine bay? Have you guys ziptied it? I have doubled sided tape but can't find any suitable locations.
Also I have a kit from my old car, it's H11 as well but I believe it's H11a and not H11b. What color temp is the best fit to match the LED DRLs? I know factory comes with 4300K but isn't that too yellow to match? I should get 5000k or 5500k right?

I just want my low beams to match the LED DRLs. Ah ok so HID 4300K will match the LED DRLs? I didn't phrase my question correctly.. I have halogens right now which is more like 3200k.

I have no idea what your DRL look like, but buying OEM-quality, Philips or similar, 4300K bulbs and a good ballast will give you white lights. Don't buy the eBay specials, those are terrible. They start off fine, though warmup took a while and they were noisy, then they would eventually get to the point where they would fail to fire and I would have to cycle the lights multiple times to get it to ignite the bulb. Replaced the ballasts and it started again after several months. Combine that with inconsistent results and it's not worth it.
As an FYI, 5000K is going to be bluish-white, 5500K even more so.

I would get 5000k. That's all that's needed to be said.

What, an opinion with no evidence?
No brand, no photos, not talking about the fact that 5000 is white with some blue, not pure white like the DRLs, which is what the OP wants?

5000k does have a hint of blue but 4300 seems to have some yellow...

5k is white; aka a color-shifted 4300k.

Take my word for it, I was super happy with 5000k from Xenon Depot. It was their in-house brand and was perfect.

Look up their thread, they have a comparison one with various makes of bulbs.

I had 4300k morimotos and they were YELLOW. I was not happy and returned them. Didn't want to drive with them for a coupke years before teh color shifted to what I wanted...

In terms of visibility it's a "loss" of a whole 200lm if I recall...

Actually got into someones newer lexus with stock 4300 the other day and def noticed the yellow. my 5000k philips is a pure, extremely white color. i like it a lot more, 4300 is boring and to common

LED DRL's on most vehicles tend to be in the 5000K-6000K range. 5000K is essentially a white color, the 6000K has a slight hint of blue in it. 5000K is a great color choice for HID's to go with DRL's and probably our most popular seller on the Xtreme XenonDepot HID kits.
